The Database Upload Utility is available for customers who wish to import their inventory data into the shopping system, rather than enter each item one at a time. The inventory data file for the Database Upload Utility needs to be formatted in SmartCart's Standard Data Format. The store administrator can maintain their online store by uploading the product data to the server and publishing the file, or the data can be imported once to populate the online store and then the inventory can be managed from SmartCart's Inventory Manager. This module requires the entry of the category data in SmartCart's Catalog Controls to create the catalog index for the online store.
A Database Conversion Utility will support inventory data in any format. You will need the Database Conversion Utility if your product data requires more information support than is available our standard format. The Database Conversion Utility also provides the convenience of the automatically updating the catalog index (active product categories) in your online store.
