SmartCart Data Format

Export and Import your inventory database file. Our system accepts both text/tab format and csv formats. By placing the correct Column Tag Name at the top of each column in your file, SmartCart will know what to do with each column. The first 5 fields below are required. The Import/Export feature is located in the SmartCart Administration page.

Price1:Price2:Price3 *	Price of product. If product is available in different varieties, a price needs to be listed for each variety in the same order, separated by a ":". No "$".	Example: 120.00:150.00:155.00	PRICE
Category Level 1::Category Level 2::Category Level 3:: *	Product Categories have 3 levels and are separated by "::" (two colons - no spaces) Also, categories that have more than one word, please include a "_" where the space should be. Description Format	Add HTML if your product description is in an HTML format. Otherwise, leave blank.	Example: HTML	CONTYPE
Charge State Sales Tax?	yes or no. Applies to products that are applicable to state sales tax.	Example: yes	TAXABLE
Wholesale Price A (Enterprise)	Only add wholesale price for ordering options that offer an A Level wholesale price. No currency symbols.	Example: 90.00:120.00:125.00	PLAT
Wholesale Price B (Enterprise)	Only add wholesale price for ordering options that offer a B Level wholesale price. No currency symbols.	Example: 100.00:130.00:135.00	GOLD

Item Tag (retail/wholesale)	This field indicates if the product will be a retail item and/or a wholesale item in the online catalog. Values are _retail_ or _wholesale_	Example: _retail_	ITEMTAG
Number Available	This field indicates the number of products that are available of each AVAIL. Values are any real number.	Example: 3:12:5	NUMAVAIL
Zero Qty Message	This field contains the message that will display if the item contains zero availabilities.	Example: In Stock By: 12/31.	ZEROMSG
Download File	This field is used only if you have a download item for sale and you have the file uploaded to the download sales area. Place the filename of the file in this field.	Example: howtobuildahouse.pdf	DOWNLOAD
active/inactive product	This field indicates if the product will be active in the online catalog. Values are _active_ or _inactive_	Example: _active_	ONOFF
Product or Service?	This field indicates if the item for sale is a product that requires shipping, or a service that does not require shipping info to order. Values are Product or Service.	Example: Product	PRODSERV
Ships Solo?	Provide the value Solo if product ships in a solo package. Otherwise, leave blank.	Example: Solo	SHIPSOLO
Sale Price (Pro/Enterprise)	Add a sale price for each ordering option, if applicable.	Example: 100.00:130.00:135.00	SALEPRICE
Sale Start (Pro/Enterprise)	If sale price is active for a period of time, add the start date. Otherwise, leave blank. Enter as YearMonthDay.	20070601	SALESTART
