This ministry's biggest expense is providing free course books to our network of volunteers who minister to small groups in prisons, jails, halfway houses, pregnancy centers, and addiction recovery houses. All our workers are volunteers who have been specially trained to work with the materials. We chose this labor-intensive, expensive-to-supply delivery system because it is effective. Our clients have multiple and extensive needs which require the rich interactive atmosphere we provide and most often neither they nor their sponsoring organizations can afford to pay for our materials or services we provide.
Because of limited funds, we have tried teaching without books in the hands of our clients, and it has not worked. At one point our small group sessions dropped to 10% of the previous levels because our facilitators and clients became discouraged at the cost of funding a class set of books themselves. Your support over the years have enabled us to continue this ministry to the poor with quality materials and services since 2008.
