The Cobra FRS (Family Radio Service) two-way radio gives active families and sports enthusiasts and easy, crystal clear way to communicate with one another. It's the first two-way radio to make use of the new FM frequency the FCC has opened up for this purpose. (previously you had to apply to the FCC for an expensive license to use a two-way radio).
For the first time you can stay in touch with members of your family or group in a two mile area: around your neighborhood or home, at the mall, or at an amusement park, from car to car, on a camping trip or on a biking, mountain climbing or skiing expedition. It's not only a unique safety device but lots of fun to use!
Unlike cellular phones, the FRS communicator carries no monthly fees or other fees, and conversations are crystal clear even in crowds, around tall buildings, through walls, or in dense forest.
That's because it's using an ultra-high frequency (462.5-467.7 MHz) with amazingly strong signal reception. There are also 14 channels, so you'll always be using the clearest possible frequency. Held like a telephone handset, the radio is pocket-sized (4 3/4 x 1 3/4 x 1 1/2) and weighs less than 1/2 pound. On the road, in the woods, or at the mall, you'll always know how to find your family and friends! Uses 4 AA batteries (not included)
